The City of Williamston DPW is posting seasonal (summer) laborer positions.  We may be looking to fill one or two positions for this summer.  Historically, the positions are often filled by recent high school graduates or first and second year college students.  The past students have typically been Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil students from the local area around Williamston.

This is not designed as an internship; however, we do try to have some of the work related to the water, wastewater, or road system maintenance so there is some exposure to infrastructure.  I need to be clear: It is outside, dirty, physical work for the most part, but the pay is not bad for someone trying to earn money towards school.  We do try to work in some assistance with GPS equipment, our GIS system or other asset management activities when we can.  More information is provided here.

CFR Environmental is looking for some part-time help, not a ton of hours, a minimum of only 10 hours per month but could be 10 hours per week depending on their in-house workload. The work schedule is flexible, you can work remote, but they work towards hard deadlines.

The work you'll be doing is helping to maintain monthly air emission inventories for several industrial facilities located in the Grand Rapids Michigan area (they will train). Occasionally, you will also be doing some research on chemical toxicity (again, they will train you). The internship will be for at least the summer and will likely be also for the 2021-2022 academic year.

This is a great opportunity to get some professional experience and help ease the financial stress of being a college student. You'll also have the opportunity to network with the professional environmental community. We also offer a generous hourly rate.

Contact me directly at andy@cfrenvironmental.com or even better, pick up the phone at 616-283-0022.
